Course Description

 

Private Study is a course designed to prepare the student for the bandstand.

 

Objectives

 

  1. Understand rhythm: master Solfeo
  2. Be able to work with “click” or metronome
  3. Be able to play non root voicings
  4. Play basslines effectively
  5. How to build motifs
  6. How to build a solo

 

Requirements

 

Each student will be able to play through a song of their choice voicing out the chords. They will also be able to solo ontop of the “changes”. They will have a firm grasp of how to work with motifs and use them throughout their soloing.
